Nature’s Courtyard aims to set a new standard for the sustainable future of Maltese residential architecture, addressing the pressing issue of overdevelopment that plagues our island. Instead, it focuses on conserving construction resources and embracing biophilic design principles. The layout, inspired by the natural geometry of a tree branch, was crafted to optimize human movement, with everything centered around a single courtyard. This serves as a powerful metaphor for how our lives should revolve around nature, rather than forcing nature to revolve around us.
